blue, pink, black: a cat sets off pastels

You'd forgotten how lovely black looks against soft sky blue and dawn pink, hadn't you?  This sketch reminds me of looking out the window in the earliest morning of what's due to be a hot day.  Here's Gwen John (Welsh, 1876-1939) with an undated "Black Cat on Blue and Pink."  (So is that a second cat back there in pale grey, or a shadow?)
