even cats get the blues

Yes, this kitty swain has been kicked to the curb in Jilted (1933) by David Henry Souter.  Souter was a Scottish-born Australian artist and journalist.  Though he was famed for his humorous writing and the overall quality of his artwork, he's apparently best known for his black and white work, such as this one.  I find his stylizations of the cat form really interesting (here's another super cool example).  Here's a much better blog post than mine on Souter, complete with his Kat-garoo.
