and a 1625 ad dog

From the Norton Simon Museum, Guercino's heroic yet warm portrait of Count Filippo Aldovrandi's dog. Mind you, in real life this is 44 x 68.25 inches, so Count Filippo thought a lot of this dog. And well he should, when you look at him.
