This gently cheerful work is by the hand of the great Song Dynasty painter Ts'ui Po, dated 1061 AD. Its title, "Double Happiness," refers to the lucky wordplay which in Mandarin makes "two magpies" and "double happinesses" sound the same. And I thought, since the hare is looking up at the magpies, why not believe we're all looking at lots of good things this Easter? What better inspiration to make them happen?
Happy Easter, everyone!
