this is just to say

. . . thank you all so much for the kind and dear thoughts. Baci really was a sweet cat, the kind who wins over even people who (gasp!) don't like cats. And all she ever wanted in return was for me to be nice to her and love her.

The cherry blossoms are out at last, and if I were a medieval Japanese lady I would be composing poetry on their beauty and fleeting time. Well, I'm in a mood to do that, so here is my humble attempt at a haiku for Baci.

they race in the wind
those blossoms i wish to hold
the lights in your eyes
