This is a sweetly unpretentious work by the Austrian painter Georg Teibler (1854-1911).  No date known, but it's a "Young Girl with Cat," in front of a tiled stove.  Teibler was known for his portrait and history paintings.  This isn't anything that grand, only (only?) a glimpse of a child and her kitten, warm and cozy at home.  Coziness is one of the traditional Austrian values.  What a good idea.  Perhaps I'll nab a cat and seek a cozy spot myself right after I post this.
