Somewhere in the late 3rd to early 2nd millenium BC, in an area known as Bactria, a craftsperson made two chubby little silver dogs.
Bactria is presently the area between Afghanistan and Tajikistan, and the dogs portrayed then and there are usually longer, leaner breeds. These were surely pets, funny and fluffy, and wearing lovingly detailed collars. Now they live in the Louvre, and you should visit them.
Notice their curly tails and furry feet!
