one puppy to another

I've been reading a great deal of Jane Austen lately. Right now I'm on Emma, in which a character tends to refer to impudent young studs as "puppies." When I ran across this today I couldn't help turn it around and offer it to you all.

LINE ON A DOG'S COLLAR, EXAMINED BY A FASHIONABLE DANDY.

Steal me not! myself and collar
Both are barely worth a dollar:
Puppies should befriend each other;
See me home, then, dearest brother!
