vintage photo time: look at all those puppies

Six puppies?  Seven?  Hard to tell even in puppy-enhance...

But be sure to click on the first picture to see the grins on the faces of the two guys at left.  Why are the puppies out in the yard?  Where is their mother?  But nobody seems terribly upset; everything must be fine.
