I was on a roll with the Rijkmuseum and couldn't resist this sassy Arnoud Schaepkens (1816-1904) etching: Hond en cat (Dog and cat), made sometime from 1831-1904. Schaepkens was a draughtsman from Maastricht. A great deal of what you'll find of his at the Rijksmuseum are funny little quick studies like these. I wonder if he ever saw his pets doing this very thing, or simply made this up for cheer.
