What a pleasure to be able to feature an Old English sheepdog - and what a pleasure, too, to introduce you to the work of Toronto artist L. A. Shepard.  Her dog portraits mix fresh color and excellent technical style with unmistakable soul, as you may also see here and here, or for that matter pretty much anywhere in her Etsy shop TheDogLover.  When I dug a bit into her story I understood more.  Shepard's dogs have gotten her through some very challenging times.  Her art career stands as testament to them and more importantly to her beloved late husband's spirit of giving.  Dogs give, too, and they help Shepard spread the message.
