lively, lovely pet obits

Back in July this year, The Guardian invited its readers to submit obituaries in memory of their beloved (and not so beloved) pets.  The published selection includes Julius the shoe-humping tortoise, Guto Dale the dog with perfect funeral manners, and Gary the psycho cannibal goldfish.  All their stories are told simply and vividly by the humans who loved them (or, in Gary's case, dumped him down the toilet).  Worth the feelings...have a read.
