This looks like a Pacific Northwest mist, deep and soft and beautiful in a gentle way, safe cover for white rabbits to amble around and look at the world.  It's a Dutch mist, though, from the coastal province of Friesland, painted by Jan Mankes (1889-1920).   "White Rabbits in Autumn" (1911) shows Mankes at his hypnotic best.  Neither a Symbolist or a Realist, but something in between, he was particularly known for soft brush strokes under layers of glaze, resulting in images that look as though you photographed your dreams.  He had a pet owl; I will bring you a Mankes owl someday soon.
