Did you know whippets began as a cross between greyhounds and small terriers? Hm! How did THAT work? In any case, the result was a small yet sleek, fast dog that could go after game such as rabbits. Food, in other words, for people who needed to supplement their diet. This is why the whippet was once called the "poor man's greyhound."
But as you'll see at Whippet.com's art pages, the poor man's greyhound was a first-class beauty.
