share a meal, don't be one

thanks wikimedia commons (PD)
This funny Japanese otsu-e (comical folk picture) dates from 1700-50 and depicts a frequent theme: cat and mouse sharing a meal. (Here's another example.) Otsu-e are called that because that's exactly what they are, paintings from the town of Otsu in Omi Province (today it's Shiga Prefecture) often sold to travelers as souvenirs.  So you could say these are tourist postcards in a way.
