Here's the front of a cigarette card from the UK, circa 1924-34.  Back in the day, cigarette cards were an extra treat in your pack, with a picture on the front and an ad or some useful info on the back. (Here's a good introduction on cigarette at the New York Public Library's Digital Gallery, where I found this.)  This winsome Scotch Terrier is one of a dog care series by Major Drapkin & Co. Tobacco Co., and accompanies a how-to on getting Fido dosed (see below).  Lord knows you DO want to take good care of your dog.  Better buy another pack for the next hint.
