warm in the woods

thanks wikiart.org. (PD)
Albert Bierstadt (German-American, 1830-1902) was known for his huge, sweeping canvases of the American wilderness.  Here he is on a much more intimate scale with Irvington Woods (undated), a warm, sun-dappled walk with a couple of friends.  Note that they're black dogs:  any other color wouldn't have shown up as well against the tawny paths.
