Example #1: listening to Guesch Patti, "Blonde" from The Pillow Book soundtrack
Example #2: A huge rubber ducky! Three massive blowup poodles! A giant thatched muskrat, for Heaven's sake! Not to mention the wooden bunny, the red German Shepherd, and the room full of megasized stuffed toy animals. What's going on here? Florentijn Hofman, that's what. (Who.) He's a young Dutch artist whose work is scaled to toy - in more senses than one - with public space. As a statement from his website tells us,
The work of Hofman is known for integrating, intriguing and interactive installations into public space. Obviously he changes with great joy between performative(public) art and the domain of the sculpture (only to mention a few of his used media) and has a strong wish to amaze and making life a little much more fun.And he does.
